Job summary

Capital Health in New Jersey is hiring a Nursing Assistant/Health Aide for full-time positions to support patient care, assist with ADLs, monitor vitals, and perform phlebotomy and EKGs under supervision. A High School diploma or GED and English proficiency are required.

The posted pay range is $18.21–$22.74 per hour for a 24-hour work week. Candidates enrolled in LPN/RN programs and completion of the Capital Health UAP Training within 90 days are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English, verbal and written communication.
• Six months of Nursing Assistant/Health Aid experience preferred.
• AHA Heartsaver AED certification required; non-licensed must obtain before end of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Performs supportive patient care duties including ADLs, patient hygiene, vital signs, obtaining weights, phlebotomy, glucometer testing, EKGs, positioning, and ambulation.
• Performs transports as requested (patients, medications, supplies, and specimens).
• Documents observations and activities on patient records; reports findings to the registered nurse.
• Adheres to hospital policies and safety procedures; uses equipment properly.
• Stocks and maintains supplies on the designated unit.
