Job summary

Mercy South is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Oncology Infusion Center in St. Louis, MO. This PRN, day-shift role involves delivering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other infusion therapies in a welcoming outpatient setting.

You will assess patients, supervise treatments, and educate families while collaborating with a multidisciplinary oncology team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care throughout the treatment journey.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, valid RN license.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients before, during, and after infusion treatments
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, hydration therapy, and other infusion medications
• Monitor patients closely for treatment responses and adverse reactions
• Access and maintain peripheral IVs, ports, and central lines
• Collaborate with oncologists, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and support staff to coordinate treatment plans
• Educate patients and families on medications, side effects, symptom management, and ongoing care needs
• Review laboratory results and communicate significant findings to the care team
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses in the electronic health record
• Maintain oncology treatment safety standards and infection prevention practices
• Provide compassionate support to patients and families throughout the treatment process

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
