Job summary

Arizona Arthritis & Rheumatology Associates PC is seeking an ambitious Infusion Prior Authorization Coordinator to join our team. This role focuses on the financial and administrative coordination of physician-administered infusion and injection therapies from order through treatment approval, acting as the department's insurance and reimbursement expert.

Responsibilities include benefit investigations, prior authorizations, appeals, financial assistance approvals, and ongoing payer management.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in infusion, rheumatology, oncology, specialty practice, or medical insurance coordination.
• Experience with physician-administered medications and buy-and-bill reimbursement.
• Extensive knowledge of medical benefit investigations and prior authorizations.
• Experience with Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies.
• Experience with manufacturer copay assistance and charitable foundation programs.
• Experience using Nextgen.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with providers, nursing staff, in office infusion coordinators, Revenue Cycle, insurance companies, and outside infusion facilities to ensure seamless patient care.
• Provide timely updates regarding authorization status, financial barriers, payer changes, and treatment readiness.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation within the electronic health record, including benefit investigations, prior authorizations, appeals, financial assistance approvals, insurance correspondence, patient communications, and outside referral tracking.
