Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an experienced RN/NP to provide infusion services in outpatient centers across North County, including Encinitas, Vista, and Rancho Bernardo. This role requires autonomous nursing practice and strong patient care leadership.

The position involves administering chemotherapy, blood work, dressing changes, and injections, with the ability to respond to urgent medical emergencies in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current California RN license.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months of hire date.
• ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification with recent experience (within the last 6 months).
• Minimum one year of oncology infusion center experience actively administering chemotherapy and knowledge of oncology diagnoses and treatments.
• Proven independent thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and prioritizing skills.
• Able to function in a fast-paced environment with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, clinical trials infusion, and other infusion-related services.
• Perform blood work, dressing changes, and injections in a fast-paced infusion center.
• Respond to and handle urgent medical emergencies.
• Practice autonomous nursing care within ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance.
