Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for North County Infusion to provide chemotherapy, biotherapy, and infusion services in a busy outpatient center. The role includes blood work, dressing changes, injections, and responding to emergencies with autonomous practice consistent with ANA standards.

Minimum qualifications include an accredited nursing degree, California RN license, BART/BLS, and oncology infusion experience. CNIII level reassignment may occur; remote work not indicated.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current California RN license.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
• ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification with recent experience (within the last 6 months).
• Minimum one (1) year of recent oncology infusion center or acute care oncology experience actively administering a wide variety of chemotherapy regimens.
• Must have proven independent thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and prioritizing skills.
• Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and consistently demonstrate empathy and kindness to all staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide chemotherapy, biotherapy, clinical trials infusion, and other infusion-related services.
• Perform blood work, dressing changes, and injections.
• Respond to and handle urgent medical emergencies in a fast-paced outpatient infusion center.
• Practice autonomous nursing care within ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance.
