Job summary

Compass Oncology in the Portland area is seeking a Registered Nurse for Infusion Oncology support at the West Cancer Center in Tigard, OR. This 0.8 FTE position offers 32 hours weekly with salary guidance per hour; Oncology experience is preferred and dual OR/WA licensure must be obtained within 6 months.

The RN provides professional oncology nursing care under supervision, supports patient flow, dosing modifications, and patient education while adhering to safety and compliance standards across

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
• Dual licensure in Oregon (OR) and Washington (WA) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• Chemotherapy Immunotherapy provider card, preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists physician with exams and procedures.
• Maintains efficient and appropriate patient flow in and out of exam rooms.
• Assesses patients for changes in condition and initiates appropriate action.
• Facilitates dose modification by assessing patient, labs, protocol, or treatment plan and consulting physician.
• Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports and maintains central lines catheter devices.
• Administers medications/blood products using correct dosage, route, time and technique.
• Documents nursing assessments and patient teaching in the chart.
• Communicates all pertinent information to the physician.
• Triages patient calls and documents information in the chart.
• Provides teaching and instructional materials to patients and family.
