Job summary

UCI Health in Orange County is seeking a dedicated nurse to provide patient care in the Infusion Center. The nurse applies psycho-motor and age-appropriate cognitive skills, assesses, plans, intervenes and evaluates patient care, and supports research accrual and student training as a PCC on request.

The role models professional practice, collaborates with physicians and care teams, and fosters a positive learning environment for new unit staff while delivering oncology care.

Qualifications

• 1 year Oncology or MedSurg experience and completion of OCN Cancer Basics class
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Minimum of six months demonstrated nursing experience
• Knowledge and practice of body mechanics
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Demonstrated knowledge and practice of infection control techniques
• Current chemotheropy/biotherapy card required within 3 months of hire
• Current California RN license
• Current BLS certification
• All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Ability to work effectively with colleagues, physicians and others as part of a care team
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
