Job summary

Trinity Health Corp. is seeking an experienced registered nurse for a full-time, day shift position at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, IA.

The nurse will provide professional nursing care using the nursing process, educate patients and families, supervise support staff, and collaborate with physicians and the care team. The role requires an Iowa RN license, a Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred, and 3–5 years of RN experience with BLS certification within three months of hire.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current or compact state license as a registered nurse.
• Bachelor degree in nursing preferred.
• 3–5 years RN experience preferred; BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administers nursing care to patients including assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating the care plan.
• Provides patient/family education and counseling on health problems.
• Supervises health care team members (LPNs, techs).
• Uses computer applications to document and communicate patient information.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment setup and safety protocols.
• Participates in emergency procedures and quality management.
