Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health's Infusion Center seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver compassionate oncology care in a daytime, 9.5-hour shift environment at the Melchiorre Cancer Center Infusion Center. Responsibilities include chemo administration, vascular access management, patient education, and coordination with the care team.

Candidates must hold NJ RN licensure; BSN preferred. BLS and IV certifications are required or obtained within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing and valid New Jersey RN license.
• BSN preferred or matriculating toward degree.
• BLS and IV certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Oncology related certifications (OCN or equivalent) encouraged; CE credits needed if not certified.
• Strong oncology assessment, chemotherapy administration, vascular access, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments and plan care for hematology/oncology patients.
• Administer chemotherapy/biotherapy per policies and standards.
• Manage IV chemotherapy and implanted access devices; monitor for side effects.
• Provide central line care including flushing and dressing changes.
• Recognize emergencies and respond to patient condition changes.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and symptom management.
• Coordinate with physicians and team for discharge planning and goals.
• Potentially assume Charge Nurse duties as assigned.
