Job summary

Palmetto Infusion is seeking a Medical Assistant to support ambulatory infusion centers in Concord, NC. You will perform clinical and administrative duties under physician supervision and support patient flow, vitals, phlebotomy, injections, and registration tasks.

The role requires MA certification, BLS, and proficiency with MS Outlook, Word and Excel. Monday–Friday, some Saturdays; 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Medical Assistant certification by either AAMA, AMT, CCMA, NRCMA, or NCMA.
• BLS or obtained upon hire.
• Prior medical assistant or externship experience.
• Proficient at MS Outlook, Word, Excel.
• Ability to cope with ambiguous, changing environment while under pressure in a calm manner.
• Must be able to work as a team member and develop productive relationships with Palmetto Infusion team.

Responsibilities

• Performs visit intake: insurance and other verifications, vital signs, weight, and data entry for visit.
• Collects patient data, including medical and social history.
• Reviews patient’s current medication list and allergies.
• Assists the provider during treatments as directed.
• Collects specimens and performs phlebotomy.
• Administers subcutaneous injections under provider direction.
• Prepares, cleans, stocks and maintains the clinic.
• Assists with patient registration, check-in/out, scheduling and co-pays.
• Assists in emergency situations as directed.
