Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the Outpatient Clinic. Under RN supervision, you will perform multi-skilled tasks to support patient-centered care and assist in exams and treatments directed by physicians.

You will interview patients, take vital signs, and input information into the medical record, while preparing treatment rooms and supporting efficient clinic operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program; one year of patient care experience preferred.
• Certification as CCMA/CMA/NAHP/NCCT through AMT/AAMA/NHA/MedCA is required or preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients, measure vital signs (pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height) and input data into the medical record.
• Assist in examination and treatment of patients under direction of a physician.
• Prepare treatment rooms and maintain patient care flow.
