Job summary

Duke Women’s Cancer Care of Raleigh is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to join the Hematology Oncology/Infusion Clinic at Macon Pond Road in Raleigh.

The CMA will greet patients, manage infusion bay flow, collect histories and vitals, explain procedures, and assist clinicians. Responsibilities include specimen collection, basic lab tests, ECGs, wound care, and documentation in patient records. On-site support for non-chemotherapy and chemotherapy infusions offered.

Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred; high school or GED required.
• Level II–IV CMA certification/met requirements and BLS.
• Strong patient care and clerical skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and maintain flow of the infusion bays.
• Record medical histories and vital signs, explain treatments.
• Prepare patients for infusion and assist staff during procedures.
• Collect labs, perform basic tests, take ECGs, change dressings.
• Document in patient records and support clinic operations.
• Place peripheral IVs and administer medications as directed.
