Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant I to support the Oncology Outpatient Infusion Center in Chapel Hill. You will assist the professional caregiver, transport patients and equipment, and set up patient rooms while handling a range of clerical duties on the patient care unit.

Responsibilities include assisting physicians, reviewing patient care documentation for significant changes, stocking and organizing supplies, and providing direct personal care as outlined in the plan of care.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in verbal and written English language.
• Certificate/Licensure required: Nursing Assistant I and BLS.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipment and supplies.
• Critically reviews patient care documentation and reports significant changes to the nurse or physician.
• Performs a variety of clerical tasks, greets visitors, reviews orders for clarity, transcribes physician orders, and maintains medical records.
• Provides clinical support including cleaning, stocking, transporting, and orienting new staff.
• Provides direct personal patient care as outlined in the plan of care activities.
