Job summary

Vital Care Infusion Services is seeking a detail-oriented Authorization Specialist to initiate and manage prior authorizations for infusion patients. The role emphasizes accuracy, timely submissions, and adherence to payer processes to reduce denials and improve cash flow.

The ideal candidate will review patient files, collaborate with franchise partners and payers, document activity, verify benefits, and communicate therapy costs clearly to patients.

Qualifications

• Must have 2 years in intake/authorizations and home infusion.
• Excellent English communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to review and submit prior authorizations efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Review patient files for completeness and submit prior authorizations on time.
• Communicate with franchise partners, payers, and other departments.
• Document activity in the system and schedule follow-ups.
• Verify benefits for pharmacy and medical third-party claims.
• Obtain reauthorizations and follow up with payers.
• Track and escalate service issues delaying authorization.
• Explain therapy costs to patients before starting service.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
