The Ohio Department of Youth Services is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Specialist 2 to join the Division of Information Technology Services. This role delivers high-quality technical support to juvenile correctional facilities, regional offices, and the central office, ensuring stable, secure, and efficient operations.

Responsibilities include infrastructure installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and security management.

Qualifications

  • 48 mos. combined work experience in any combination of installing, monitoring/maintaining, configuring, upgrading, or administering multiple technology domains.
  • Includes 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.
  • Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Job description

Work Location: Cuyahoga Hills Juvenile Correctional Facility, 4321 Green Rd., Highland Hills, Ohio 44128. Travel to other DYS sites is required.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Specialist 2 to join our Division of Information Technology Services. This role provides high-quality technical support to our Juvenile Correctional Facilities, Regional Parole Offices, and Central Office, ensuring stable, secure, and efficient operations.

Core Responsibilities
Technical Support and Troubleshooting
  • Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and administer hardware and software across multiple technology domains
  • Diagnose, analyze, and resolve technical issues for end users, ensuring timely and effective resolution
  • Interface with other platforms from hardware and software perspectives
  • Create, organize, and maintain technical documentation, ensuring thorough and accurate records
Security and Access Management
  • Review and monitor enterprise security systems, responding promptly to alarms and alerts in alignment with agency policies and procedures
  • Maintain, update, and manage user access controls and security tools, including patch management and assisting with third-party patching
  • Provide system owners and IT staff with effective vulnerability mitigation strategies, metrics, and corrective recommendations to reduce technical and business risk

48 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: installing, monitoring/maintaining, configuring, upgrading, &/or administering/operating multiple technology domains including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.

Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems; and 30 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: installing, monitoring/maintaining, configuring, upgrading, &/or administering/operating multiple technology domains including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.

Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; and 24 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: installing, monitoring/maintaining, configuring, upgrading, &/or administering/operating multiple technology domains including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.

Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
