Job description

As an Infrastructure Specialist 2, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing the organization’s technology infrastructure across multiple domains. This position is hands on, fast paced, and often requires balancing proactive system management with timely issue resolution.

What You Will Do

• Install, configure, upgrade, monitor, and maintain multiple technology platforms and systems.
• Administer and manage contractor/vendor access, ensuring devices are connected and operating securely.
• Diagnose, analyze, and resolve technical issues for customers across several infrastructure domains.
• Create, maintain, and organize documentation to support system operations and knowledge sharing.
• Review and respond to enterprise security system alerts (e.g., antivirus, spam filtering), following agency policies and procedures.
• Work with various hardware and software platforms, ensuring compatibility and smooth integration.
• Provide informal mentorship and guidance to peers and junior staff, answering questions and offering support through conversation, observation, or documentation.
• Perform duties aligned with lower level infrastructure roles as needed, demonstrating flexibility and broad competency.

Work Environment & Expectations

• This role may require being on-call 24/7, depending on assignment.
• You will be required to carry and respond to a pager or cell phone to manage off hours alerts or incidents.
• Some travel is required, and you must provide your own transportation unless operating a state vehicle (which requires a valid driver’s license).
• The work may involve balancing independent tasks with collaboration across teams, vendors, and customers.

Pay Information

Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be step 1 of the salary range associated with this position. New hires advance to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Based on collective bargaining and legislative activity, there may be cost of living increases awarded annually. Additional longevity supplements begin after 5 years. The current wage progression for this position is in the table below.

Location Requirements

DCY’s core hours of operation are Mon-Fri from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across DCY divisions.Employees may begin as early as 7:00am & as late as 9:00am, based on supervisory approval. This position performs work on-site daily at DCY’s office space.
