Job summary

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) Region Two seeks a Project Manager (Engineering Manager I) to guide transportation initiatives from planning through design, construction, and early maintenance, while leading diverse technical teams.

This full-time role requires a Utah PE license, strong communication, and the ability to manage contracts and engage with local governments to align projects with regional development and transportation needs. Salary ranges are competitive.

Qualifications

Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Utah.
Minimum two years of engineering experience after licensure.
Strong communication, facilitation, and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

Project Oversight: Define project scope and direct projects through planning, design, construction and first year of maintenance.
Delivery & Quality: Ensure final products meet scope, schedule, and budget with a customer-focused approach.
Team Leadership: Lead diverse teams of technical specialists and foster accountability and excellence.
Risk & Communication: Proactively evaluate risks and maintain clear stakeholder communications.
Contract Management: Develop, negotiate, and administer engineering and construction contracts.
Community Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with local governments to align projects with regional developments.
