Job summary

Stanford University’s SLAC Project Management Office in Menlo Park seeks a Project Management Specialist to support infrastructure projects by coordinating technical activities and planning and executing small minor projects. You will liaise with SLAC scientific staff, operations groups, and other PMO functions.

Your responsibilities include reviewing plans, outlining objectives, sequencing project phases, and monitoring cost and time baselines.

Responsibilities

• Manage small minor projects (<$1M) or multiple large tasks within a larger project from initiation through completion with limited guidance; coordinate all technical activities on assigned projects.
• Review project plans and proposals, develop project objectives, determine phases and elements, calculate time frames, and sequence stages.
• Oversee, coordinate, and perform technical aspects of a project with guidance (engineer, quality, scheduler).
• Assist project managers on larger projects as directed.
• Review, evaluate, approve, and monitor cost schedule and technical scope baselines.
• Ensure preparation of required project documentation.
• Contribute to communication plan and change management elements.
