Infrastructure Product Manager
Pittsburgh, PA 15203 – HYBRID (1-2 days onsite)
6+ Month Contract, likely extension
We are seeking an Enterprise Services Corporate Infrastructure Product Manager to serve as the product leader and central work intake orchestrator for our global internal technology ecosystem. In a fast-paced retail technology organization, core infrastructure—from enterprise networking (SD-WAN, LAN/WAN) to cloud environments, store connectivity, and back-office platforms is the foundation that powers retail operations, supply chain logistics, and store systems. Operating with autonomy, this mid-to-senior level role treats infrastructure as a product, driving product discovery, domain strategy, and multi-quarter roadmaps for internal tools and platform architecture. Crucially, this role governs and manages all technical work intake across the business and technology organizations. You will analyze intake requests, assess effort and resource requirements, evaluate planned vs. unplanned demand, and systematically weigh new requests against the existing backlog to keep stakeholders aligned as business priorities evolve.
Work Intake Governance & Portfolio Balancing: Establish, govern, and own the formal work intake process for the Corporate Infrastructure domain. Evaluate, triage, and analyze all incoming requests from cross-functional technology and business teams—assessing scope, resource needs, operational effort, and whether the work is planned vs. ad-hoc/unplanned.
Dynamic Backlog & Capacity Re-Prioritization: Lead continuous reprioritization exercises. Align incoming requests against the existing backlog and active roadmap, evaluating trade-offs and facilitating alignment across leadership and engineering when pivoting or shifting gears.
Infrastructure Product Strategy & Vision: Own the end-to-end product vision, lifecycle, and multi-quarter strategic roadmap for enterprise infrastructure domains (cloud platforms, data center connectivity, network performance, enterprise services). Treat internal engineers, retail store staff, and corporate employees as core "customers".
Product Discovery & Requirements Definition: Conduct internal user research, gather input during intake, and analyze operational metrics to translate technical requests into clear Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), epics, and user stories. Balance core feature delivery, security compliance, user adoption, and technical debt.
Cross-Functional & Developer Partnership: Serve as the strategic partner to Network Engineering, Cloud Operations, Security, and external technology vendors. Translate complex architecture and infrastructure capabilities into business outcomes for cross-functional stakeholders.
Vendor Ecosystem Strategy: Drive vendor evaluations, build-vs-buy analyses, and strategic alignment with global telecom providers, cloud service providers, and hardware vendors. Hold external partners accountable to product standards, cost targets, and SLAs.
Metrics, Adoption, & Continuous Improvement: Define key operational and product performance indicators KPIs/SLOs—e.g., intake velocity, request fulfillment SLAs, system reliability, developer velocity). Monitor analytics post-launch, run post-mortems, and continuously iterate on the enterprise infrastructure roadmap.
Intake & Portfolio Management: Demonstrated track record of establishing work intake frameworks, managing complex backlogs, estimating capacity/effort, and driving stakeholder alignment during scope or priority shifts.
Domain Expertise: Demonstrated experience managing platform, cloud, internal developer tools, or corporate IT/networking products (e.g., SD-WAN, LAN/WAN, cloud connectivity, enterprise SaaS, or hybrid data center infrastructure).
Product Management Core: Proven success leading product discovery, writing PRDs, managing backlogs, and launching internal platform features using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Retail & Enterprise Systems Acumen: Experience building or supporting technology environments that power retail store operations, distribution centers, supply chain logistics, or omnichannel infrastructure is highly desirable.
Data-Driven & Strategic: Analytical mindset with experience using data, latency/uptime metrics, cost management platforms, and feedback loops to drive feature prioritization and business cases.
Tooling: Proficient with Jira, Jira Product Discovery (or equivalent intake tools), Confluence, Miro, Google Workspace, and product analytics platforms. PM certifications (e.g., AIPMM, CSM) or technical infrastructure exposure are a plus.
