About The Opportunity
AimHire is partnering with a growing B2B software company to hire an Infrastructure & Operations Engineer for its Denver office. The company’s platform serves large enterprise customers and runs on a mix of production infrastructure the team manages directly.
This is a hands‑on, wide‑ranging role. Most of your time will go to keeping production infrastructure reliable: systems, networking, virtualization, and storage. You’ll also be the go‑to person for IT in the Denver office. You’ll work closely with the engineering, support, and services teams, and you’ll have plenty of room to automate and improve how things run. It’s a great fit for someone who enjoys owning infrastructure from top to bottom and likes variety in their work.
What You’ll Do
Production infrastructure
- Keep Linux and Windows production systems healthy, patched, and performing well.
- Run and troubleshoot virtualization environments (VMware or similar), plus the containerized workloads and the infrastructure underneath them.
- Manage network infrastructure, including switches, routing, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, and DNS.
- Support production storage, and resolve capacity, performance, and availability issues.
- Take part in the on‑call rotation, respond to incidents, and trace problems to their root cause across multiple layers of infrastructure.
- Plan and carry out upgrades and maintenance with as little disruption as possible.
- Build automation using scripting, APIs, configuration management, and AI‑assisted tools to reduce manual work.
- Improve monitoring and logging so problems are caught early and recurring issues go away.
Corporate IT and compliance
- Own office IT: laptops, office networking, conference room technology, and software.
- Handle employee onboarding and offboarding, access management, and device setup.
- Administer identity and device management, productivity suite, and HR systems.
- Carry out SOC 2 and internal security controls, including access reviews, endpoint compliance, asset tracking, and audit evidence.
What You’ll Bring
- Solid hands‑on experience administering production infrastructure, including Linux, Windows, containers, and scripting.
- Strong networking and network security skills, including routing, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, and DNS.
- Experience supporting production storage systems.
- Strong experience with VMware or a comparable virtualization platform.
- A proven ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
- Comfort handling corporate IT and end‑user support as a secondary responsibility.
- Willingness to take part in on‑call and occasional after‑hours work.
Nice to Have
- Data center or colocation experience.
- Experience administering Google Workspace and cloud‑based identity or device management platforms.
- SOC 2 or similar compliance experience.
- AWS or other cloud infrastructure experience.
- Experience using AI tools for troubleshooting, scripting, and automation.
