Job summary

The Intersect Group is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure & Security Leader to serve as the primary onsite IT leader for the Gilbert operation, coordinating with global and remote IT teams to guide infrastructure, cybersecurity, operations, and vendor management.

• Experience with backup/recovery solutions (Veeam/Datto).

• Executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of ITIL principles and IT service management best practices.
• Able to balance strategic planning with hands-on problem solving.
• Experience working with distributed/remote teams.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure & Security Leader to serve as the primary onsite IT leader. This role will provide strategic leadership across IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, operations, and vendor management while partnering closely with executive leadership. The ideal candidate is a strategic and collaborative IT leader who can manage MSP relationships, guide the company’s security roadmap, support a growing global organization, and help build scalable IT operations as the company continues to grow.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary onsite IT leader for the Gilbert operation while coordinating with global and remote IT teams.
• Manage the relationship with the MSP, GMI, including ticket prioritization, escalations, and service delivery.
• Provide strategic direction for the company’s cybersecurity program, including security priorities, configurations, and roadmap development.
• Partner closely with the CEO, CFO, and other business leaders to align IT strategy with business objectives.
• Lead and help build the IT organization as the company grows.
• Oversee onsite and remote desktop support resources and ensure appropriate support coverage.
• Provide leadership on higher-level infrastructure, security, and operational escalations.
• Oversee IT infrastructure and networking within the organization.
• Support backup, recovery, and business continuity initiatives.
• Establish and maintain IT service management processes and best practices.
• Manage third-party IT vendors and ensure effective service delivery.
• Drive strategic technology initiatives and continuous improvements across the IT environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and IT operations leadership.
• Strong cybersecurity background with the ability to provide strategic security guidance.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, including VLANs and network infrastructure.
• Experience with IT infrastructure and operations in a business or enterprise environment.
• Experience with backup and recovery solutions, preferably Veeam and/or Datto.
• Proven experience managing MSP relationships, escalations, and service delivery.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Strong understanding of ITIL principles and IT service management best practices.
• Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on problem solving.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with distributed and remote teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Manufacturing industry experience, particularly within a material sciences or similar operational environment.
• Experience supporting global or geographically distributed organizations.
• Familiarity with Cyberhaven (DLP/DSP) or similar data protection technologies.
• Experience leading or scaling an IT organization in a high-growth environment.
• Experience developing long-term IT infrastructure and cybersecurity strategies.
• Experience working directly with C-suite executives and senior business leadership.
• Experience building IT processes, teams, and support models as an organization scales.
