Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Management Consulting Analyst in Washington, DC to support funding evaluation, grant strategy, strategic planning, and financial analysis for transportation projects nationwide.

As part of HDR's Transportation Business Group, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to develop data-driven analyses, support grant applications, and help shape project delivery strategies across lifecycle stages, from planning to operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field; 2+ years related experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present findings.
  • Experience supporting government infrastructure programs or grant processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Research and assist in evaluating potential funding sources and program requirements and assist in writing technical documents for transportation projects and capital improvement programs across project lifecycle.
  • Support market, demographic, economic, and land use analyses to inform infrastructure planning and investment strategies.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to support client recommendations and present findings clearly.
  • Evaluate market trends, development activity, economic conditions, and growth forecasts to assess project opportunities and risks.
  • Support feasibility analyses involving development potential, demand drivers, revenue forecasts, and implementation considerations.
  • Assist in identifying projects competitive for state/federal grant programs and in writing grant applications.
  • Assist in developing procurement documents and related program implementation guidelines.
  • Support development of public-private partnership and alternative delivery projects and related documents.

Master's degree preferred in Planning, Public Administration, Public Finance, Business, or related field
4+ years of work experience with budgets and CIP experience (6 years preferred)
