Job summary

Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County seeks an Engineer 1 at the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT). The role involves reviewing plans, preparing cost estimates, conducting site inspections, and coordinating with agencies and contractors for infrastructure projects.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in engineering, a Professional Engineer license, and four years of post-degree experience, with Tennessee PE licensing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and four or more years of post-degree engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer license required; Tennessee PE license must be obtained before end of probation.
• Valid driver license required.

Responsibilities

• Designs, reviews, and revises plans and specifications for infrastructure projects.
• Prepares and reviews cost estimates for projects.
• Conducts on-site inspections to ensure compliance with Metro guidelines.
• Oversees acquisitions, easements, and coordination with contractors and other departments.
• Assists with project bids and final payments.
• Attends meetings and prepares technical reports.
