Job summary

Raytheon Vision Systems in Goleta, CA, seeks a Focal Plane Process Engineer with a background in semiconductor fabrication to maintain and advance infrared focal plane manufacturing. You will lead process development for flip chip bonding, precision alignment, and optical coatings in a cleanroom environment.

The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, familiarity with SEMI processes, and ability to collaborate across disciplines. Security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience in Process or Manufacturing Engineer in an Optics, Electro-Optics, Semiconductor, Fabrication and/or Microelectronics environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage process development and improvement projects, including novel processing techniques, yield increase, throughput, and safety improvements.
• Review material in WIP, certifying operators, dispositioning out of flow material, and hands on processing of novel detector designs.
• Provide Process Ownership of flip chip bonding, diamond point turning, precision alignment, or optical coatings.
• Develop requirements and qualification plans for new equipment procurements.
• Work in a cleanroom environment with full coverall garments.
