Job summary

Allstate Insurance seeks an experienced Infrastructure as Code leader to own strategy, standards, and governance across enterprise automation. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable automation across omni-hosted platforms, building reusable modules and self-service capabilities.

You will drive CI/CD, security, and governance for infrastructure delivery, partner with platform teams to accelerate IaC adoption, and create training materials to empower engineers in IaC tooling and pipelines.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code principles and practices.
• Experience with continuous collaborative pair programming to solve technical challenges.
• Strong experience building infrastructure automation solutions using tools such as Ansible, Terraform/OpenTofu, Env0, Puppet, or equivalent platforms.
• Demonstrated success establishing and scaling enterprise infrastructure automation initiatives.
• Strong software engineering mindset with emphasis on maintainability, testing, version control, and automation.
• Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments.
• Knowledge of Git-based development workflows, branching strategies, pull requests, and code review practices.
• Experience building reusable modules, templates, and shared automation services.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, security, identity management, and platform services.
• Proven ability to influence engineering teams and drive adoption of technical standards.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical execution.
• 5+ years of experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Own IaC strategy, standards, governance, and adoption roadmap.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation across omni-hosted platforms.
• Build reusable modules, templates, blueprints, and self-service automation capabilities.
• Develop automation using Ansible, Terraform/OpenTofu, Puppet, Rundeck, Python, or related tools.
• Apply AI-assisted engineering and Specification-Driven Design practices to improve delivery speed, consistency, and automation quality.
• Understand responsible AI practices, security controls, governance, and risk management within enterprise automation platforms.
• Design and develop APIs and integrations for infrastructure orchestration and platform services.
• Drive CI/CD, security, compliance, testing, and deployment automation for infrastructure delivery.
• Partner with platform product teams to accelerate IaC adoption and productize infrastructure capabilities.
• Create documentation, reference architectures, training materials, and enablement programs for IaC tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering best practices.
• Leverage cross-domain infrastructure knowledge spanning compute, networking, storage, security, identity, cloud, and infra services to deliver curated consumer-facing platform products and improve operational resilience.
