Job summary

Qualifications

  • 7½ years (90 months) experience commensurate with duties and 12 months PM functions.
  • Or completed undergrad coursework plus 5½ years plus 12 months PM experience.
  • Or equivalent minimum class qualifications as stated.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day‑to‑day DevOps activities, deployments, environments, releases, and monitoring.
  • Ensure timely tier‑one help desk support with ticket queues and SLAs.
  • Administer ServiceNow including workflows, incidents, changes, upgrades.
  • Lead cybersecurity tasks: vulnerability remediation, IAM reviews, endpoint security.
  • Develop and enforce operational policies and deployment best practices.
  • Monitor performance, metrics, and system health; prepare improvement reports.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, security, and stakeholders for smooth deployments.
  • Manage staffing, workload, development, and performance evaluations.

Description

Leads a multidisciplinary IT operations team responsible for DevOps deployments, tier‑one support, ServiceNow administration, and cybersecurity operations.

  • Oversee day‑to‑day DevOps activities, including application deployment, environment management, release scheduling, and monitoring of production systems.
  • Ensure timely and high‑quality tier‑one help desk support by managing ticket queues, service levels, escalation workflows, and customer service standards.
  • Oversee the administration and optimization of the ServiceNow platform, including workflow management, incident and request processes, change management coordination, and system upgrades.
  • Oversee staff responsible for cybersecurity operational tasks such as vulnerability remediation, identity and access management reviews, endpoint security monitoring, and compliance activities.
  • Develop and enforce operational policies, standard operating procedures, and deployment best practices that enhance reliability, security, and service quality.
  • Monitor team performance, service metrics, and system health; prepare reports and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, security teams, and business stakeholders to ensure smooth deployments, incident response, change control, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage staffing, workload prioritization, professional development, and performance evaluations for team members.
  • Drive a culture of operational excellence, proactive risk management, and strong customer service across all supported functions.
  • Attend training classes and seminars, read literature to keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies, and maintain policies related to job responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • 7½ years (90 months) experience commensurate with job duties, knowledge, and skills as outlined in the position description, plus 12 months experience in project management functions.
  • OR completed undergraduate core coursework in computer science or any major that included: advanced‑level programming language, logic‑based mathematics, database concepts, computer systems analysis & design, and basic data processing concepts; plus 5½ years (66 months) additional experience and 12 months experience in project management functions.
  • OR equivalent of the minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Supplemental Information

Unusual working conditions: computer terminal operations for long periods; overtime may be required; travel may be required (including overnight stay); on‑call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Hourly wage will be paid at step 1 unless otherwise specified by collective bargaining agreement or rules outlined in the ORC/OAC.

Final candidate will undergo a criminal background check. The final applicant will also submit to urinalysis prior to appointment to test for illegal drug use. A positive test result will result in no offer of employment.
