You will communicate status and risks clearly to senior leadership. The role requires strong planning, coordination across cross-functional teams, and delivery of milestones within budget.

Job Title: IT Project Manager (Hybrid role)

Duration: 12+ months contract (Possible Extension)

Timing: 1st shift (Monday to Friday)

Pay rate: $55-58/- hourly on W2

Job Description:

The Department of Finance and Division of Revenue is seeking a contract IT Project Manager to lead and coordinate multiple concurrent technology projects using traditional waterfall and Agile methodology. This role is responsible for full project lifecycle management - from planning through closeout - across enterprise infrastructure, application, and cybersecurity initiatives, and requires the ability to communicate project status and risk clearly to senior leader.

Key Responsibilities

• Handling around 5 projects ranging from large to small.
• Manage multiple IT projects simultaneously supporting DOF from initiation through closeout using waterfall methodology
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and roadmaps
• Create and manage risk and issue trackers; proactively identify, escalte, and mitigate project risks
• Define project scope, deliverables, milestones, and resource requirements in coordination with stakeholders
• Track budget, timeline, and resource allocation against baseline plans
• Coordinate cross-functionally with infrastructure, cybersecurity, application support, business and vendor teams
• Prepare and deliver status reports and presentations to senior leadership and executive stakeholders
• Manage vendor and contractor deliverables where applicable
• Document lessons learned and support continuous improvement of PM practices within the IT organization

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience managing multiple concurrent IT projects in a waterfall/structured methodology environment - 5 years minimum
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain project plans, roadmaps, RAID/risk-and-issue logs, and status reporting artifacts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior/executive leadership
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Experience working with cross-functional technical teams (infrastructure, security, applications)
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• PMP certification (or equivalent)
• Prior experience managing mid-large sized IT projects – specifically managing Finance related projects (reporting, data management, Enterprise level projects, compliance, audits)
• Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira).
