Job summary

Richland County School District One seeks a Librarian/Media Specialist at Keenan High School to develop, implement and maintain integrated information technology programs for students and staff. The role reports to the Principal and supervises Media Assistants as assigned.

The position focuses on providing librarianship, instructional technology integration, and program administration to promote effective use of information resources in the curriculum.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• As Information Specialist, participate in committees for information technology programs and disseminate IT materials.
• Support resource sharing with information centers and agencies via loan services and electronic formats.
• Involve patrons in selection and evaluation of materials and databases to support learning objectives.
• Provide teachers with information about new materials and IT developments.
• Provide consultative services in selection, purchase, evaluation and use of IT resources.
• Implement a public relations program promoting literacy and use of IT resources.
