Gallatin County Schools is seeking a Media Specialist to support and enhance the school’s library program and instructional technology efforts. The role focuses on providing access to diverse materials, coordinating with teachers, and leading library staff to implement curriculum-aligned services.

The candidate will administer the media center, manage budgets, and stay current with trends in library media to support student learning and information literacy across formats.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and administers the library media center's program of services to students and teachers, to support the curriculum and to further the goals of the school.
• Conducts annual needs assessment and evaluation of the library media program; selects and orders library materials in all formats.
• Establishes efficient routines for circulation, utilization and maintenance of the library media center and equipment.
• Plans budgeting and expenditure of funds for the library program.
• Provides instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading and information literacy.
• Assists staff and teachers in using library materials and coordinating instruction with library resources.
• Schedules, trains and supervises the library media staff and volunteers.
• Participates in meetings to increase library expertise.
• Supports online learning programs used in the school.
• Maintains knowledge of current statutes and policies affecting library services.
