Job Title: IT Manager II

About the Role

We are hiring an IT Manager II for one of our modern clients in the U.S. healthcare insurance sector. This is a high-impact leadership role with the flexibility to be staffed either as a direct full-time position or on a contract-to-hire (C2H for 3 months) basis, depending on candidate preference and availability.

You will lead a team of approximately 8 IT professionals while managing critical infrastructure projects, cloud services, and enterprise security. This role requires a blend of technical depth and strategic leadership, especially in Azure cloud environments, Windows Server administration, PowerShell scripting, and security hardening.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of ~8 IT engineers and administrators, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management
• Oversee and maintain enterprise infrastructure, including Azure cloud resources and Windows Server environments
• Plan and execute infrastructure projects with an emphasis on security, performance, and scalability
• Drive security hardening initiatives, ensuring compliance with best practices and industry standards
• Automate administrative tasks and infrastructure management using PowerShell
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver high-impact solutions
• Monitor system health and performance, and lead incident response and resolution efforts
• Own the lifecycle of IT assets, system upgrades, and change management processes

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in IT systems administration or infrastructure engineering
• 4+ years of people management or team lead experience in IT
• Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, identity services, and cost management
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments, including AD, DNS, and Group Policy
• Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and administration
• Track record of implementing security hardening and compliance measures (e.g., CIS Benchmarks, NIST, ISO)
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305)
• ITIL, PMP, or other project/process certifications
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery planning
• Familiarity with endpoint management (e.g., Intune), virtualization (e.g., Hyper-V), or monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Monitor)
