Job summary

RKD Group is seeking an IT Asset Manager to oversee full lifecycle management of hardware and software assets. The role ensures accurate inventory, cost-efficient procurement, license compliance, and proper disposition in alignment with company policies.

You will work with IT, finance, and end users to maintain an up-to-date asset program, conduct regular audits, and drive improvements across the asset lifecycle. This is an on-site Dallas role with a strong focus on governance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years in IT asset management or related IT operations.
• Experience with ITAM tools, ticketing systems, and asset lifecycle controls.
• Strong vendor management and procurement process understanding.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a comprehensive, accurate inventory of hardware and software assets.
• Track full lifecycle from procurement to retirement and disposal.
• Coordinate hardware procurement with IT leadership and finance.
• Document equipment assignments, transfers, and returns for onboarding/offboarding.
• Develop and enforce IT asset management policies and SOPs.
• Conduct physical audits to reconcile inventory records.
• Manage relationships with vendors and renewals.
• Generate asset management reports and dashboards for IT leadership.
• Ensure secure disposal or recycling of retired IT equipment.
• Collaborate with Help Desk to provision/deprovision assets.
• Support budgeting with asset cost, lifecycle, and refresh cycle data.

The IT Asset Manager is responsible for the full lifecycle management of all hardware and software assets across the organization. This role ensures accurate inventory tracking, cost-effective procurement, license compliance, and proper disposition of IT assets in alignment with company policies and industry best practices. The IT Asset Manager works closely with the IT team, finance, and end users to maintain a reliable and up-to-date asset management program.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a comprehensive, accurate inventory of all hardware and software assets across the organization
• Track the full lifecycle of IT assets from procurement through retirement and disposal
• Coordinate hardware procurement in collaboration with IT leadership and finance, ensuring cost-effective purchasing
• Process and document equipment assignments, transfers, and returns for onboarding and offboarding employees
• Develop and enforce IT asset management policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Conduct regular physical audits of IT assets to reconcile inventory records
• Manage relationships with hardware and software vendors, including maintenance contracts and renewals
• Generate and maintain asset management reports and dashboards for IT leadership
• Oversee the secure and compliant disposal or recycling of retired IT equipment
• Evaluate and implement improvements to the asset management system and tooling
• Collaborate with the Help Desk team to ensure timely provisioning and deprovisioning of assets
• Support budget planning by providing asset cost, lifecycle, and refresh cycle data

Qualifications & Skills

• 2+ years of experience in IT asset management or a related IT operations role
• Hands-on experience with IT asset management (ITAM) tools and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, or similar)
• Strong understanding of hardware and software asset lifecycle management
• Familiarity with software license compliance, vendor contracts, and procurement processes
• Experience conducting physical and virtual asset audits
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Location: Dallas, TX – On-site. This is not a remote position.

Pay Range expected for the position: $80k - $100k annually.

The position level and compensation for this role will be determined based on the market location, experience, job skills, and qualifications of the candidate.
