Job summary

The Fayette County Chamber of Commerce is seeking a full-time IT Support Technician to install, maintain, and support PCs and peripherals for county staff in Fayetteville, GA. This role includes software installation, hardware upgrades, and responsive problem solving both on-site and remotely.

Key duties include setting up devices, troubleshooting LAN/WAN issues, updating documentation, and participating in staff meetings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or standard training.
• 1–2 years of related work or completed apprenticeship/internship.
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid Georgia driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support and problem solving assistance to county employees regarding computer hardware and software problems; resolves problems over the telephone, on-site, or remotely.
• Sets up, installs, maintains, and coordinates personal computers and peripheral equipment; installs new and upgraded software packages; installs hard disk drives and additional upgrades.
• Troubleshoots and resolves problems dealing with wide area networks.
• Provides customer service to the end user.
• Creates, completes, and updates documents.
• Attends staff meetings to discuss current and future projects.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job description

This is a full-time position with benefits. This position is responsible for installing and maintaining personal computers and peripherals.

Major duties include but are not limited to:

1. Provides technical support and problem solving assistance to county employees regarding computer hardware and software problems; resolves problems over the telephone, on-site, or remotely.
2. Sets up, installs, maintains, and coordinates personal computers and peripheral equipment; installs new and upgraded software packages; installs hard disk drives and additional upgrades.
3. Troubleshoots and resolves problems dealing with wide area networks.
4. Provides customer service to the end user.
5. Creates, completes, and updates documents.
6. Operates county vehicles.
7. Attends staff meetings to discuss current and future projects.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
• Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's licenses issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
