Information Systems Security Officer Level 3

BTS Software Solutions is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer to execute the Information Assurance mission. This opportunity is for a future award expected in June 2025.

Job Description:

The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) provides support for a program, organization, system, or enclave's information assurance program. Supports proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies. Maintains operational security posture to ensure policies, standards, and procedures are established and followed.

Degree Requirement:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.

Relevant Experience:

1. Support senior ISSOs in implementing and enforcing security policies, standards, and methodologies.
2. Assist with documentation preparation and maintenance.
3. Evaluate security solutions for compliance with security requirements for processing classified information.
4. Manage configuration management (CM) for security software, hardware, and firmware.
5. Maintain records of workstations, servers, routers, firewalls, network switches, etc.
6. Develop and maintain documentation for Certification & Accreditation (C&A) in accordance with ODNI and DoD policies.
7. Provide CM for security-relevant software, hardware, and firmware.
8. Develop system security policies and ensure compliance.
9. Evaluate security solutions to meet security requirements for classified information processing.
10. Maintain operational security posture for systems or programs.
11. Support the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in maintaining operational IA posture.
12. Develop and update system security plans and IA documentation.
13. Assist with security management and daily security operations.
14. Administer user identification and authentication mechanisms.
15. Obtain Certification & Accreditation (C&A) for systems under their purview.
16. Support the organization's information assurance program and coordinate IT security policies.
17. Manage and assess security impacts of system changes.
18. Serve as the Approval Authority for systems under control.
19. Provide oversight to contractor ISSOs and interact with customers and high-level officials to meet IA objectives.

Education and Experience:

A bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline is required, along with fifteen years of ISSO experience on similar scope programs. Experience should include knowledge of security tools, hardware/software security, communication protocols, and encryption techniques. Compliance with DoD 8570 IAM Level I or higher is required. Four years of ISSO experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.

Pay Range:

$135,000-$155,000. The pay range is a guideline; actual offers consider various factors including responsibilities, candidate background, and competencies.
