The Opportunity:

As an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), you will be responsible for maintaining operational security postures and active security authorizations for projects/security plans (SPIDs). Your duties include creating and maintaining security artifacts such as Plans of Actions and Milestones (POAMs), ensuring control implementations meet Assessment and Authorization (A&A) requirements, conducting vulnerability assessments, managing POA&M resolution, and consulting on ICD 503 and RMF standards throughout the IT Systems lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct security reviews of systems, applications, and services.
• Participate in security assessments and develop remediation plans.
• Maintain operational security posture in collaboration with the ISO.
• Research, develop, implement, and review security measures per DoD/NIST RMF standards.
• Guide contracting teams on security measures and threat management.
• Maintain security authorizations and artifacts to meet A&A milestones.
• Oversee integration of applications with enterprise security services.
• Implement security guidelines and timely patches.
• Utilize security databases such as XACTA 360, Service+, CPT, and SWAP.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• At least five (5) years of ISSO experience, preferably within the IC and NGA, across multiple SPIDs.
• Experience with security scans and applying patches.
• CISSP or Security+ certification.

Pay Range:

The salary range is $68,400 - $143,700, influenced by various factors including location, experience, skills, and education. We offer comprehensive benefits including healthcare, wellness, retirement, family support, education, and time off. Learn more here.
