Platinum Technologies currently has an opportunity for an experienced Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) Mid and Senior levels to help develop emerging technologies for special operator requirements.

This role is HYBRID and located at MacDill AFB, Tampa, Florida. Candidate must hold an active TS/SCI clearance.

What you get to do.

1. Design, develop, and implement security concepts, controls, and mechanisms.
2. Enforce information systems security policies to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational security requirements.
3. Ensure readiness of all security authorization packages for Authorization and Accreditation (A&A).
4. Conduct security certification and testing in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) policy.
5. Assess security risks and develop mitigation strategies for information systems.
6. Support system security engineering efforts by integrating cybersecurity controls into system architecture and development lifecycles.
7. Conduct vulnerability assessments, security audits, and penetration testing to identify and remediate system weaknesses.
8. Develop and maintain security documentation, including Security Control Traceability Matrices (SCTMs), System Security Plans (SSPs), and Risk Assessment Reports (RARs).
9. Analyze test results, identify deficiencies, and provide risk mitigation recommendations.
10. Provide technical guidance to developers, engineers, and IT teams on secure coding practices and system hardening.
11. Ensure security controls are effectively implemented, monitored, and continuously improved.
12. Conduct security training and awareness sessions to reinforce best practices among stakeholders.
13. Assist in incident response and forensic investigations related to cybersecurity breaches or vulnerabilities.
14. Stay updated on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and cybersecurity best practices to enhance organizational security posture.

Required Skills.

1. Must hold an active Top Secret clearance and be SCI eligible.
2. BA/BS and minimum five (5)+ years of relevant experience – Mid Level.
3. BA/BS and minimum ten (10)+ years of relevant experience – Senior Level.
4. Current DoD 8140 - IAT II Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+).
5. Demonstrated experience in ICD 503 certification and accreditation processes.
6. Must maintain required technical and security training per DoD Instruction 8510.01 (RMF), NIST SP 800-53, and DoD Directive 8570.01-M (IA Workforce Improvement Program).
7. Hands-on technical expertise in cybersecurity, including security assessments, system auditing, and secure system development.
8. Familiarity with NIST SP 800-37, CNSSI 1253, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-39, and NIST SP 800-30.

Preferred Skills.

1. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
2. Experience with security operations, compliance, and policy enforcement in government or defense environments.
3. Knowledge of cloud security, container security, and DevSecOps methodologies.
4. Familiarity with STIG implementation and security automation tools.
