Job Summary

Join the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) as an Information Systems Officer and contribute to the delivery of critical enterprise applications and technology solutions that support one of the world’s largest international pension funds. UNJSPF administers benefits for more than 80,000 beneficiaries in over 190 countries and serves more than 150,000 participants across 25 member organizations worldwide.

This position is located in the Information Management Systems Service (IMSS), Enterprise Applications Section (EAS) of UNJSPF Pension Administration. The Information Systems Officer reports directly to the Team Lead within IMSS/EAS and plays a key role in the design, development, integration, administration, and support of enterprise technology solutions that underpin the Fund’s business operations.

The incumbent is responsible for managing application development and integration projects, supporting cloud-based platforms, maintaining enterprise systems, and delivering innovative technology solutions that improve operational efficiency, business continuity, and user experience. The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and external service providers to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable enterprise applications and integrations.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage projects involving feasibility studies, systems analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of enterprise applications and integrations.
  • Develop detailed system specifications, technical documentation, user requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective technology solutions and application enhancements.
  • Design, develop, maintain, and support enterprise integrations and cloud-based applications.
  • Ensure appropriate system security, access controls, and data integrity across enterprise platforms and integrations.
  • Troubleshoot complex application issues and provide ongoing technical support to business users and stakeholders.
  • Organize and perform unit, system, and integration testing, and support user acceptance testing activities.
  • Develop user guides, training materials, and operational documentation, and provide training to end users.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, business continuity activities, and system resilience initiatives.
  • Research emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance business processes and service delivery.
  • Contribute to reports, technical papers, system strategies, and enterprise architecture initiatives.
  • Facilitate communication between business units, technical teams, vendors, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Coordinate and support Service Level Agreements (SLAs), vendor management activities, and contract administration related to enterprise applications.
  • Provide guidance and technical leadership to junior staff, consultants, and project team members as required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize enterprise applications, integrations, and operational processes.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field is required.
  • A first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in planning, design, development, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise applications, cloud platforms, or integration solutions is required.
  • At least five (5) years of experience with integration architectures and protocols including REST, XML, FTP, WSDL, JSON, and SOAP Web Services is required.
  • Strong programming experience in Java is required.
  • Experience supporting multi-SaaS (Software as a Service) environments is desirable.
  • Experience with enterprise platforms such as Vitech V3/Velocity, Oracle Fusion Financials, Tungsten Total Agility, and/or ServiceNow is desirable.
  • Experience designing and developing scalable integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, AWS integration services (including API Gateway, AppFlow, and Step Functions), and/or Oracle Integration Cloud is desirable.
  • Experience working with enterprise application support, cloud technologies, systems integration, and vendor management is desirable.
