The Department of Operational Support (DOS) provides end-to-end operational support, advisory services and other solutions to the operating entities across the Secretariat, including other departments, offices-away-from-headquarters, field missions, and regional commissions. The Capacity Development Operational Training Service (CDOTS) provides operational training, including training on enterprise resource management system and leads as the main facilitator of business process management activities in the UN Secretariat. This position is located within the Capacity Development and Operational Training Service (CDOTS)/Department of Operational Services (DOS). The incumbent reports to the Chief of Service, CDOTS/DOS.
Within delegated authority, the Programme Management Officer will be responsible for the following duties:

Identifies priority activities and assignments; adjusts priorities as required. Allocates appropriate amount of time and resources for completing work. Foresees risks and allows for contingencies when planning. Monitors and adjusts plans and actions as necessary. Uses time efficiently.
An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, human resources, economics or a related field is required. A first-level university degree with relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree in the specified fields of studies.
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration, learning and development or related area is required. Experience designing training programs with an e-learning component is required. Experience conducting training / learning needs assessments is required. Experience working in a learning and development capacity for an international organization is required. Experience conducting Train the Trainer programmes is desirable.
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this job opening, English is required.
