Job summary

United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) is seeking a Programme Management Officer, P3, to drive strategic transformation across the Pension Administration. You will lead cross-functional initiatives, manage change, and deliver data-driven improvements in a global pension service delivery environment.

The role operates within the Business Transformation Unit (BTU) and reports to the Chief of BTU, supporting the Deputy Chief Executive.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Business Administration, Management, IT or related field.
  • First-level degree with additional 2 years qualifying experience accepted in lieu of advanced degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business process re-engineering, lean, automation, business analysis, change management, or programme management.
  • At least 2 years in financial services, pension administration, insurance, or related industry.
  • UN system or international organization experience is desirable.
  • At least 2 years in AI, RPA or automation technologies desirable.
  • At least 2 years in CRM/ERP or pension administration systems desirable.
  • At least 2 years in data analytics or data-driven process improvement desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of transformation programmes and projects.
  • Monitor programme progress, identify risks, and coordinate actions with stakeholders.
  • Support change management activities, including workshops and training sessions.
  • Research, analyse, and present information to support strategic initiatives and decision-making.
  • Develop policies, tools, and studies based on industry trends and needs.

Job Summary

Join the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF), a global pension fund serving more than 130,000 participants and over 90,000 beneficiaries across more than 190 countries. The Pension Administration operates across New York, Geneva, Bangkok, and Nairobi and is committed to delivering modern, efficient, and client-focused pension services.

This position is located in the Business Transformation Unit (BTU) of the Pension Administration. The Programme Officer reports to the Chief of the Business Transformation Unit, under the overall guidance of the Deputy Chief Executive of the Pension Administration, and contributes to the delivery of strategic transformation, change, and organizational performance initiatives.

The incumbent supports the development and implementation of transformation programmes, business process improvement, change management, automation, and data-driven initiatives. The role provides an opportunity to work across business and technology functions to streamline processes, introduce innovative solutions, strengthen organizational performance, and support the Pension Administration’s vision of delivering outstanding service globally.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of transformation programmes and projects, including tracking key performance indicators and expected benefits.
  • Monitor programme and project implementation, identify challenges and risks, recommend corrective actions, and coordinate follow-up with relevant stakeholders.
  • Support consulting and change management assignments, including facilitating workshops, training sessions, and other interactive engagements.
  • Research, analyse, and present information from diverse sources to support strategic initiatives and organizational decision-making.
  • Contribute to the development of policies, frameworks, tools, and studies based on industry trends, best practices, and organizational needs.
  • Support continuous improvement and business process re-engineering using lean principles to improve efficiency and client service.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and technology-enabled improvements aligned with business requirements.
  • Design data-collection tools and surveys and analyse results to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collect and analyse data and develop graphs, charts, tables, reports, and other visualizations to support data-driven planning and decision-making.
  • Prepare background papers, analytical reports, studies, presentations, and other written materials.
  • Provide substantive support to meetings, consultations, conferences, and other stakeholder engagements.
  • Conduct outreach activities, workshops, seminars, and presentations related to assigned transformation initiatives.
  • Coordinate programme and project activities related to budgets, funding, progress reporting, and work programme requirements.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with counterparts, senior officers, and technical teams across Pension Administration business and IT functions.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Business Administration, Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
  • A first-level university degree in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in business process re-engineering, lean methodologies, process automation, business analysis, change management, project or programme management, or a related area is required.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in financial services, pension administration, insurance, or a related industry is required.
  • Experience within the United Nations system or a comparable international organization is desirable.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in AI, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and other automation technologies is desirable.
  • At least two (2) years of experience implementing Customer Relationship Management (CRM), ERP, or pension administration systems is desirable.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in data analytics, data-driven process improvement, or a related area is desirable.
