Job summary

OrthoAlaska, LLC, a multispecialty orthopedic practice in Alaska, seeks an Information Systems Director to lead day-to-day IT operations across clinic locations. You will manage the IT team, ensure security of EHR (NextGen) and practice management systems, coordinate interfaces with labs, imaging, and hospitals, and drive technology projects from planning through delivery.

Responsibilities include budget oversight, vendor management, disaster recovery planning, and providing strategic IT

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Preferred Master’s degree in MIS, MBA, or health informatics.
• 7+ years in IT with 3+ years supervising staff; healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day IT operations across multiple clinic locations.
• Oversee EHR/PM systems (NextGen) and PACS (NovaRAD); ensure availability and upgrades.
• Coordinate HL7 interfaces with labs, imaging, hospitals; troubleshoot interfaces.
• Partner with leadership on templates, workflow improvements, and reporting needs.
• Plan and deliver IT projects on schedule and within budget; manage vendor contracts.
• Prepare operating and capital budgets; report IT metrics to COO and leadership.
