Job summary

St Louis Public Library is seeking an Information Specialist for the TPT Subpool. You will travel to all locations, assist as needed, and connect the community to library resources through friendly, patient service and technology support.

You will help patrons register for library cards, check out materials, and assist with reference questions via in-person and phone interactions, while supporting a high standard of service across 15 locations.

Qualifications

• At least six months of customer service-related experience or an associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills.
• Ability to learn and use technology as the Library evolves.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with library card registration and checking out and returning materials.
• Aid in preparation, delivery, and receipt of Library materials; receive payment from customers.

The St. Louis Public Library is seeking a Subpool Information Specialist. Subpool employees travel to all St. Louis Public Library locations and assist as needed. The Information Specialist is enthusiastic, patient, and committed to providing excellent customer service and is comfortable working with the public and providing technology-related assistance.

In this role you will:

Assist customers with library card registration and checking out and returning library materials.

Aid in preparation, delivery, and receipt of Library materials; receive payment from customers.

You will need to be:

Hours for this position are:

Hours vary Monday-Sunday. Shifts will be in 4 or 8-hour increments. Candidates will work a minimum of one 4-hour shift per pay period. The Subpool assists in covering all 15 locations. Hours are subject to change according to organizational needs.
