Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland) is seeking an experienced Quality Manager within SNBTS to lead IT Quality Assurance and Computer Systems Validation initiatives. The Post

As a major division within the NHS National Services Scotland, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale through our leading position in new product development, biomedical research and donor services. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards to patient care whilst remaining internationally competitive.

The role of the SNBTS Quality and Regulatory Compliance Service Line is to develop and deliver a GMP compliant Quality Management System throughout SNBTS, which satisfies regulatory requirements whilst ensuring a high quality, efficient transfusion process from donor to patient.

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to provide expert advice on all IT related matters with respect to regulatory compliance and safety of the IT systems within SNBTS.

This role requires a hands‑on approach combined with the ability to work strategically. Expertise in GMP, GAMP and Quality Assurance is essential. Communication across all levels of the organization is key to success in this role. There is an opportunity for hybrid working with the expectation of flexibility to support organisational needs.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.

The Candidate

Applicants for this Post should be educated to degree level in a scientific or other relevant subject and hold a post-graduate qualification or equivalent relevant experience.

The post holder will be a key member of the Quality and Regulatory Compliance Team and will contribute to the formulation and development and implementation of policy and strategy for IT Quality Assurance and Computer Systems Validation for SNBTS. The post holder is expected to undertake a key role in continuous improvement across the organisation.

In addition, the role is a management role within the Quality and Regulatory Compliance department, and the post holder will be expected to contribute at a senior level within the department, at times deputising for the Quality Systems Manager.

Currently there is no routine requirement for “out of hours” or shift working for this post. However, the flexibility to support out of hours unexpected events is required from time to time.

Location and Working Pattern

The Jack Copland Centre, 52 Research Ave N, Currie EH14 4BE

Monday to Friday ,36 hours per week with some hybrid working acceptable according to business need
