Job Description

Apex Systems is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support a major government client in Huntsville, AL. This is a permanent, direct-hire position supporting an 8-year contract. Responsibilities include working with law enforcement to identify cyber risks, reviewing technical and environmental details, and guiding clients through security strategies using presentations, whitepapers, and milestones. The role offers an opportunity to expand skills in Cloud computing and data science while protecting national cyber infrastructure.

Minimum Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Cybersecurity or IT
• Experience with patching Windows and Linux vulnerabilities
• Experience with automation tools like Ansible and BigFix
• Knowledge of RMF, A&A, STIGs, SCAP, and tools like Tenable Nessus or Xacta
• Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Skills

• Experience with VMWare, Cisco, or Palo Alto devices
• Work in Cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments
• Certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA, RHCSA, or Microsoft Certified
