Apex Systems is looking for a Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support one of our largest government clients in Huntsville, AL. This is a permanent, direct-hire opportunity and is supporting a newly awarded, 8-year contract.

Position: Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)

Terms: Permanent, Direct-Hire

Location: Huntsville, AL

Pay Rate: $140,000 - $155,000

Position Description:

As an information security risk specialist on our team, you’ll use your experience to work with law enforcement to discover their cyber risks, understand policies, and develop a mitigation plan. You’ll review technical, environmental, and personnel details from engineers to assess the entire threat landscape. Then, you’ll guide your client through a plan of action with presentations, whitepapers, and milestones. You’ll work with your client to translate security concepts, so they can make the best decisions to secure their mission-critical systems. This is your opportunity to act as an information security subject matter expert while broadening your skills in Cloud computing and data science. Required Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in Cybersecurity or IT
• Experience patching Windows and Linux vulnerabilities using manual and automated processes
• Experience with automation tools including Ansible and BigFix
• Experience with RedHat Satellite Server and BigFix for package management or patching
• Experience with Information Assurance or Risk Management Framework (RMF) or Tenable Nessus or Assessment and Authorization (A&A)
• Experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) or Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP)
• Experience with Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M) or Xacta or eMASS working as an ISSO, ISSE, or ISSM
• Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree

Desired Experience:

• Experience with VMWare, Cisco (Nexus), or Palo Alto devices
• Ability to work in Cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments
• CISSP or CompTIA Certification
• Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate and Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate Certifications
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LCFS), Windows Server Administration, Cisco Certified Network Associate, CompTIA Linux+, and CompTIA Server+ Certifications
