Job description

Advanced Automation Corporation (AAC) is a Systems and Specialty Engineering-focused company. We maintain highly experienced and elite teams of analysts, engineers, logisticians, economists, and education specialists that serve government and industry clients within the aerospace-defense sector.

Our engineering and logistics focus is on the design and sustainment of mission-critical systems, with an emphasis on innovation and lifecycle optimization. AAC is currently looking for a Chief Systems Engineer to join an already high-performing team of engineers and architects. This position is a key member of the AAC Leadership Team and will be responsible for ensuring deliverable quality and mentoring engineers across all AAC business areas.

The successful candidate will:

  • Review deliverables for quality prior to submission to customers.
  • Have demonstrated expertise in requirements management; reliability, availability, and maintainability assessments;
  • Have demonstrated experience leading and mentoring other engineers and architects across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Have demonstrated expertise in DOE O 413.3B, Phase Six, or DODD 5000.01 Acquisition Lifecycle processes

This position may be performed remotely from anywhere in the continental US; however, candidates located within commuting distance of Oak Ridge, TN; Aiken, SC; or Amarillo, TX are preferred.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) in an Engineering Discipline
  • US citizenship, with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance
  • Expert interpersonal skills
  • Prior experience managing acquisitions programs with DOD or DOE acquisition lifecycles (i.e., DOE O 413.3B or DODD 5000.01)
  • Extensive knowledge of Systems Engineering Lifecycle and Engineering Logistics disciplines
  • Available to travel up to 50% of the time
  • 15+ years of prior work experience showing progressively increasing responsibility

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • Advanced Degree in Engineering
  • Prior experience within Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) laboratories and sites
  • Familiarity with requirements tools such as IBM Rational DOORS Next and simulation packages
  • Professional Engineering License
