Big Data Systems Engineer (Remote)

Position Overview

KBR is seeking a Big Data Systems Engineer to support the Test Resource Management Center’s (TRMC) Big Data (BD) and Knowledge Management (KM) Team. This role involves deploying BD and KM systems for DoD testing ranges and acquisition programs. The position is remote, with the possibility of working from a KBR facility or home, provided there is a stable internet connection.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and integrate CHEETAS at multiple DoD ranges and labs.
• Work with system administrators and developers to resolve deployment issues.
• Deploy within diverse environments, including secure, offline DoD vaults.
• Engage with stakeholders to ensure successful deployment and operation.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active U.S. TS/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 10 years of DoD experience.
• Experience with Hadoop, SQL Server Big Data Cluster, Kubernetes, Linux distributions, Windows Server, VMWare, etc.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in big data environments.

Skills & Abilities

• Proficiency in deploying and troubleshooting big data ecosystems.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot, and document procedures.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Over 10 years of experience in government/defense labs.
• Experience with DoD programs like JSF, TENA, JMETC.
• Ability to mentor and teach engineers.
• Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies.
