Big Data Systems Engineer

Position Overview

This is a remote position, supporting the deployment of CHEETAS at DoD ranges and labs. You can work from one of KBR’s facilities or remotely, provided you have a stable internet connection.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and integrate CHEETAS at multiple DoD ranges and labs.
• Work closely with system administrators and developers to troubleshoot and resolve deployment issues.
• Deploy CHEETAS in environments with diverse hardware and ecosystems, sometimes without internet connectivity.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure successful deployment and operation of data analytics systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active U.S. TS/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 10 years of DoD experience; entry-level candidates are not considered.
• Experience with Hadoop, SQL Server Big Data Cluster, Kubernetes, Linux, Windows Server, VMWare, etc.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in big data environments.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in deploying and troubleshooting big data tools.
• Strong communication skills for working with stakeholders and customers.
• Ability to troubleshoot under pressure and work independently.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years in government/defense labs.
• Experience with DoD programs and cybersecurity policies.
