Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Information Security Manager to lead their security initiatives in Welkom . This leadership role involves developing and executing a comprehensive information security strategy, managing a team of security professionals, and ensuring the protection of the organization's assets. You will be responsible for risk management, incident response, compliance, and fostering a strong security-aware culture. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities and a deep understanding of the threat landscape and security best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the overall information security program , aligning with business objectives.
• Lead and mentor the information security team, providing direction and performance management.
• Oversee the risk assessment process, identifying and prioritizing security vulnerabilities and threats.
• Manage the incident response process, ensuring timely and effective resolution of security incidents.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., POPIA, GDPR).
• Develop and deliver security awareness training programs for all employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in information security , with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of various security domains including network security, application security, cloud security, and data protection .
• Experience with risk management methodologies and security audit processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
