Job summary

Community Financial System, Inc. (CFSI) is seeking a part-time Information Security assistant to support the Information Security team in a mid-sized banking environment.

You will assist with daily security log/alert review, monitor phishing mailbox, and help with risk assessments tied to vendors and new technologies. A degree in information security or IT is in progress, and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills with a working knowledge of basic Information Security and IT terms and processes.
• Analytical mindset to solve problems.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team and remain on task.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily security log/alert review including follow up and investigation when appropriate.
• Monitor and analyze the internal phishing mailbox. Elevate when assistance is necessary.
• Perform testing / document new security initiatives.
• Assist with the user access provisioning and de-provisioning process.
• Assist and/or complete risk assessments tied to vendor management and new technologies.
• Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all training requirements in a timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Perform any job-related tasks assigned by any member of the Information Security department with oversight from the Director of Information Security.
