Job summary

Community Financial System, Inc. (CFSI) seeks an Information Security Intern to support our mid-sized banking environment during Spring 2027 through Summer 2027.

The role focuses on security monitoring, evidence gathering, and assisting with risk assessments in collaboration with the Information Security team. You will participate in daily log reviews, phishing mailbox monitoring, access provisioning, and testing of new security initiatives, while gaining practical experience in regulatory

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate’s, bachelor’s or master’s degree in information security, Cybersecurity or Information Technology.
• All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily security log/alert review and follow up investigations.
• Monitor and analyze the internal phishing mailbox and escalate as needed.
• Test and document new security initiatives.
• Assist with user access provisioning and de-provisioning.
• Assist and/or complete risk assessments tied to vendor management and new technologies.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable laws and regulations and ensure adherence to policies and training.
