Part-Time Communications Coordinator (Information Security)
Location: Remote (CST or EST hours)
Schedule: 20 hours/week, flexible part-time schedule (set at start of assignment)
Duration: 6 months
Equipment: Workstation provided if needed
Our financial services client is looking for a Communications Coordinator to support their Information and Cyber Security team. This is a fully remote, part-time contract role ideal for someone with strong communication skills and an interest in cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Reporting
Own the process of gathering and organizing content for executive-level reports (Board, Executive Committee, QBRs, ad hoc)
Ensure clarity and accuracy by collaborating with stakeholders to collect and refine data
Security Content Creation
Assist in writing internal content on cybersecurity topics, including best practices, trends, and incident summaries for newsletters and articles
Document Editing & Proofreading
Edit and proofread various internal documents to ensure high-quality, polished content
Work closely with content creators to enhance both business and technical writing
Intranet Site Management
Maintain and update internal Information Security pages using SharePoint and basic HTML
Post new articles, policies, phishing examples, and guidance materials
Cybersecurity Awareness Month Support
Help plan and coordinate awareness activities and campaigns
Create and distribute educational materials and support event logistics
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in a communications or coordination role
Experience creating executive-level reports
Background in finance or cybersecurity is a plus, but not required
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills (business and technical)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint and Word)
Familiarity with risk management frameworks and cybersecurity concepts
Experience with SharePoint Pages and basic HTML
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Self-starter who can work independently and collaborate across teams
Interest in cybersecurity and ability to translate complex topics into clear content
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data, including financial information.
